Related posts brought to you by Yet Another Related Posts Plugin.]]> The latest Star Wars creations by George Lucas have been overall disappointing as they cannot keep up with the original magic of the trilogy, which is why most who headed out to the Echo Arena to see the Star Wars In Concert show wondered if this one could break the chain of disappointment.

At the beginning, it looked as if it were proceeding quite well with families and fans happily looking over the exhibitions of props and costumes with Chewbacca and Darth Vader drawing the most attention.

However, the £20 programme ticket cost was slightly alarming and the multi-media show was worth maybe just half of that although the performers did give it their best shot.

The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra played with plenty of gusto, but the poor sound quality of the Arena ruined the overall spirit. Host Anthony Daniels also was wonderfully engaging and enthusiastic as he guided the audience through the entire set of six films.

Outside of a few special moments such as the Imperial March encore, the show overall failed to please with poor lighting effects and montages that could have been put together on Powerpoint and posted on YouTube.  In fact, there may be some better montages floating out there on YouTube than there were inside Echo Arena.

The other main problem was the simple fact that some of the most major characters seemed to have ceased to exist. with key roles such as Han Solo completely overlooked, which of course meant many iconic scenes were nowhere to be found.
